URBAN DIVAS: A workshop to relive the movement that defined a generation.
The R&B and Hip Hop of the late â90s and early 2000s didnât just dominate the chartsâthey created an aesthetic, an attitude, and a way of expressing ourselves that marked an entire generation.
From around 1998 to 2002/2004, it was an era defined by the rise of hip hop to commercial dominance and a fluid blend of genres between R&B, pop, and electronic music.
R&B productions incorporated hip hop beats and electronic elements, while hip hop adopted catchy melodies and vocal hooks from R&B and pop.
